 VETERAN'S DAY

World War One, at that time known as the World's War, marked the end of hostilities at the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, 1918. This became known as Armistice Day, here in the U.S. it is now known as Veteran's Day. Throughout the world November 11th is observed as a day of remembrance for all who have served; and one of it's greatest symbols is of course the Poppy. Beginning on Veteran's Day 2024 the headstones in the southwest veteran section will be adorned with poppy markers at the Maple Hill Cemetery. We look forward to hosting this event and we hope you will pass through to see "the poppies blow, between the crosses, row on row."
